After finishing University, living in Japan and skiing around the world for a few years I started snowboarding in the late 80’s. I quickly realized that riding powder was the answer. To maximize the number of powder days I became a snowboard guide and worked for Whistler Heli Skiing in Canada and Harris Mt Heliskiing in New Zealand.
As Whistler became a mecca for snowboarding in the early 90’s, the next step was to open Whistler Snowboard Tours Ltd. I wanted to help young snowboarders and skiers with lots of time but limited funds get to Whistler to ride big mountains and deep powder. Our business model is simple: we provide a warm, dry, safe, clean place to stay and cook, close to the lifts (200m), at a reasonable price. On a big powder day nothing is more important than being close to the lifts to get the goods.
